Happy Easter 2010

Assalamualaikum and hello fellow Lufbru-ians Brothers & Sisters

The Loughborough Brunei Society would like to wish everyone a happy & prosperous easter holidays ahead!
To all those who are travelling outside UK this easter, have a safe & pleasant journey. We pray that you return with the best of health and the best of condition (and with some oleh oleh too :p). Be sure to bring some books for revisions too!

We would like to remind everyone to "be aware of their personal safety during the Easter break. As most burglaries are the result of doors and windows being insecure, make sure that the last person to leave the house knows that they are the last person, and fastens all windows and doors properly." Be sure to leave a few lights on when away from your homes.

We have a couple of events planned right after Easter such as Intra-Society Football, Netball & Badminton Tournament and a Shopping Trip to Bicester Village so be sure not to miss out on those!

Last but certainly not the least:

We would like to congratulate all who made it through the BruNotts Easter Games yesterday!
Congratulations to all who've done exceptionally well!

Here are your winners again:

For Badminton,

1st Place in Men's Doubles :        Daus Ayus & Afnan
2nd Place in Men's Singles:         Hj Khairul Asme
1st Place in Women's Singles:     Mariam
2nd Place in Women's Singles:    Deekay
1st Place in Mixed Doubles:        Mariam & Alif

3rd Place in Mixed Doubles:         Deekay & Daus

and of course, LufBru Netball Team for being champions runner-ups & winning 2nd place in the Netball category.
Although the lost was only by a point, they exhibited, one of the finest displays of teamwork and proved that you could be awesome and still have fun and enjoy the game.
Credits also to your supporters who've whole-heartedly (like seriously) given an amazing support to the team throughout the competition.
Congratulations too for winning the Best Banner award!

Apologies if there are any discrepancies and errors in the spellings of names and the positions above.

And to those who think they didn't perform their best, remember that there is no such thing as failure, theres only feedback :)

"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. Twenty-six times I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." - Michael Jordan

Thanks to all those who came all the way just to support your brothers & sisters out there. We hope to continually strengthen the brotherhood/sisterhood relationship in the future. InsyaAllah.
Heres us again wishing you an enjoyable Easter break and jangan lupa revisions alright!
Cheers & Salam!

'He who amongst you sees something abominable should modify it with the help of his hand; and if he has not strength enough to do that, then he should do it with his tongue; and if he has not strength enough to do even that, then he should (at least abhor it) from his heart; and that is the least of faith "

Greetings from your New Committee!

Assalamualaikum respected Brothers & Sisters and hello fellow Lufbru-ians!

We do hope everyone is in their best of health & condition.

As of yesterday Monday the 1st of March 2010, we are officially your new Lufbru Committee for the academic year 2010 & 2011.
I would like to take this opportunity to first thank everyone who supported and voted for us during last month's Anual General Meeting.
We do hope you welcome us with open arms and forgive us for any shortcomings.
We have a number of activities lined up for this year, so be sure to keep on giving us your strength and support!

On behalf of the new committee I would like to extend our gratitude and applause to Sadiq, his committee and all the previous committee for all their collective efforts, hardwork & sleepless nights in making LufBru Society the society it is today and establishing it in my opinion as being one of the top Brunei Societies in UK. It'll certainly be a challenge to try and top up what they've done.

But nevertheless,we will do the best in our abilities to make LufBru Society a success this year! InsyaAllah :)

Here are your new committee once again:

Advisor - Ahmad Musaddiq Mohammad
Chair - Abd Waliyuddin Yahya
Vice Chair - Nursyahidah Husna Haji Tarip
Secretary - Abdul Wafi Abd Lamit
Male Religious Officer - Md Faiz Hairol Md Sidek
Female Religious Officer - Dk Nur Hanizawanah Pg Haji Zainal Ariffin
Treasurer - Imaduddin Mumin
Sports Secretary - Ahmad Marwan Haji Md Taib
Assistant Sports Secretary - Dk Siti NorAzriah Pg Metussin
Social Secretary - Abd Khaliq DP Haji Abdul Majid

Lastly, congratulations to Lufbru Legions for winning this year's MADPaintball Tournament. Another great milestone for LufBru right there.

PS: Don't forget this weekend's National Day Celebration down at James France. Be sure to be in the most patriotic of spirits and remember, the event is potluck so we most certainly appreciate it if guests were to come and contribute with their foods and dishes. Nothing reminds more of home than having the taste of fine Malay dishes we can hardly get in UK. *hints to whoever pandai membuat Pais Daging :p*

Thats all from me now. We look forward to working together in making this year & years to come to be among the most memorable years for each and everyone of us.

I end with a quote said by Sayyidina Abu Bakar r.a:

"I have been chosen amongst you, and truly I am not the best of you. If I do well, help me; and if I do wrong, set me right"
