Book seats and tickets for Stonehenge & Bath trip

السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته and hello everyone,

Regarding the email I sent 2 weeks ago, next week we will be having a trip to Stonehenge and Bath.

Day: Saturday
Date: 14 November 2009 C.E. / 26 Dhu al-Qi'dah 1430 A.H.
Time: 6.30 a.m.

At first we visit Stonehenge, then we go to Bath, touring the city.
As the subject states, now you all can book the seats, stating:

1) Your name
2) Your ID number

Seats are limited, so book quickly by replying this email.

The price for both places including the ticket to visit Stonehenge is:

£15.00 for member

£18.00  for non-member

Stonehenge

Stonehenge is probably the most important prehistoric monument in the whole of Britain and has attracted visitors from earliest times. It stands as a timeless monument to the people who built it.
The stonehenge was constructed in three phases.
It has been estimated that the three phases of the construction required more than thirty million hours of labour.
Speculation on the reason it was built range from human sacrifice to astronomy.
The stonehenge that we will see next week is the final stage that was completed about 3500 years ago.
Click here for further Stonehenge details.

Bath
Bath and the stunning countryside surrounding it is one of England's most beautiful places to visit.
Bath, England, is a unique city; its hot springs, Roman Baths, splendid Abbey and Georgian stone crescents have attracted visitors for centuries. Set in rolling Somerset countryside, just over 100 miles west of London, it is a beautiful and unforgettable place to visit.
Click here for further Bath details.

Now is your opportunity to visit these two great places in UK, and we are sure this trip will be your unforgettable memory since these two places are very far, far away from Loughborugh which is challenging and adventurous.

Payment details will be sent by the Treasurer. You can either pay to the Treasurer or other committees as well.

The itinerary of this trip will be sent next week, insha'Allah.

Oke, that's all. Hope you all having good times in Loughborough these days.

و السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته.

Polo Shirts final design and updates

Salam

Sorry again for flooding your email.

Aniway, we have just came back from the designers and now we finally have the FINAL design which can be found attached to this email. Differences with the original design are mostly slight.

The main difference is the you can choose EITHER a number OR a name but NOT BOTH.

So can you please state which one you prefer.

We will be submitting the names to the cutters on SATURDAY MORNING so if interested please reply before this. We know this doesn't leave a lot of time but unfortunately time is becoming an increasingly scarce commodiy.

Also if you gave us both your name and number, without indicating which one you prefer, we will submit your name ONLY.

Pricing is yet to be confirmed as we are still haggling over it, but it should be less than $20.

Ok atu kali saja,

Wasalam,
Muizz Alipah

LufBru announcement + ice breaking session

Assalamualaikum and Hello,

To start things off, i'd like to take this opportunity to wish all my Muslim peers a very wonderful and blessed Ramadan. We're now 10 days into it and hopefully we will come out of this month as a better Muslim.

It is now less than a month before we all get back to the books now and I hope that everyone has been enjoying their summer vacation. LufBru, as always, has been active during this summer and allow me to fill you in with what we have been doing during this course of time.

Firstly, I'm proud to announce that the LufBru Summer Games 2009 was a huge success and I'd like to highlight the efforts of the coolest, most awesomest committee members ever!!. They are none other than Ayu, Azizul, Faiz, Muiz, Basir, Haziq, Syukri and last but not least, Diyana. We have been working on it as early as February and I'd like to applaud and thank everyone involved in making it an outstanding event.

LufBru was also involved in welcoming the UK bound students during the Orientation programme which was hosted by the Brunei Students' Union on 29th July at Institute Perkhidmatan Awam and also during the recent British Council Exhibition at the Rizqun Hotel. So let us rejoice the arrival of the Loughborough bound students with open arms and some bullying (LOL! i kid i kid =D).

Next in line is that there will be an ice breaking session together with iftar (sungkai) for the freshers and all the seniors are invited so that we can mingle around getting to know each other and stuff ourselves with food after a day of fasting haha.

Below are the details for this upcoming event:

Date: 9th September 2009 (09/09/09..cool right..i know!)

Venue: Ke Tanjong Seafood restaurant

Price: BND$6 / person

Dress code: Casual

Start time: 5.30pm

Get the words out and also RSPV to us so that we know who's coming =D.

There will be personnel present to check your body temperatures on the day of the games. Therefore, anyone is suspected to have a high body temperature will NOT be allowed to enter the venues. This is a mandatory ruling that the Society and the Ministry of Health have to impose on the participants. Hence, it is highly advisable for all of you to maintain good health.

In addition, there are still vacancies for volunteers. Remember, volunteers will be given certificates, complimentary polo volunteers' shirt, food and drinks. Spaces are, however, limited and it's first come first serve. So come and join us in making the LufBru Summer Games 2009 a success!

If you have any questions or feedback, please don't hesitate to e-mail us at lufbru[at]gmail.com and we'll be more than happy to answer you.

LSG 09 NOTICE: H1N1

Assalamualaikum and hello everyone,

We hope that you are on top of your health, practising high precautionary measures as regards to the current pandemic Influenza A H1N1 outbreak. The LufBru Society is currently seeking advice from the Ministry of Health with regards to the issue. We shall inform you through e-mail as soon as we receive the proper procedures from the MOH and we trust that you will pass the information to your fellow teammates and friends.

In the mean time, please do follow the proper procedures especially for those who have returned and are returning in time for the Summer Games such as the seven days quarantine, temperature body check, washing their hands properly or use hand sanitizers.

Let us all pray and hope that this pandemic outbreak will subside soon enough for the Summer Games to take place and we hope to bring good news from the authority.

Wassalam,

WINNER OF MOST OUTSTANDING EVENT 2008/2009

Assalamualaikum and hello everyone,

Some of you might have heard about it. For those who havent, LSU Brunei Society (aka LufBru) has been awarded the "Most Outstanding Event" for our LufBru Summer Games 2008 during the LSU Society Awards last Thursday (May 29th).

It is such a great honour to win it against a handful of contenders which includes Fever, Hindu Society, CompSoc etc. This is the second time in a row that LufBru has won the award and we can all be proud knowing that LufBru has placed itself within the union as an active contender.

This achievement will not have been possible if it wasnt for the fantastic efforts the previous committee has put in in organising the LufBru Summer Games 2008 and I would like to thank and congratulate each and everyone one of you who has made it a success.

Forward we march, i say. Let us all improve on this and emulate this achievement for the upcoming summer games, InsyaAllah =).

P.s. the trophy is up for display on Nadiah's room window. You'll be able to have a glimpse of it from outside telford hall, block 6 hehe.

Wassalam,

Ahmad Musaddiq Mohammad

I hope you all well. Just to inform everyone that Brunei Darussalam was paired up with Hazlerigg-Rutland Hall in the Universal Parade that was organised by the ISA last week and got FIRST PLACE! Which put Brunei, literally, in the map! This is due to hardwork & drive of the people who participated and helped out to make the parade happen. You know who you are ;) Although it was raining and freezing but they kept on going. That's the drive that we have to have for the love of our country! (Esehmen! I know I'm lame ^,^)
